RUDE AWAKENING

RUDE AWAKENING … A man (32) allegedly drove off with a Windhoek City Police Service vehicle before crashing into a private property in Khomasdal yesterday morning. According to a statement issued by the police, the man entered the Khomasdal Police Station at around 07h25, claiming he had been assaulted and robbed somewhere in Khomasdal and requested police assistance to apprehend the alleged suspect. Officers asked him to wait outside for assistance, but the man left and allegedly took a vehicle key that had been left on a counter. Officers followed the vehicle and shortly afterwards discovered it had crashed into a private property near the station.No injuries were reported. A mental hospital later confirmed that the suspect is a patient.
