RP flexes muscles in Karas

KEETMANSHOOP – The Republican Party (RP) has set its sights on making the party more visible in the Karas Region.

In an interview with Nampa yesterday, a member of the RP National Executive, Johannes Doc Shifoleni, said the party planned to establish a branch at Keetmanshoop next week. This move is to be followed by the setting up of branches in other towns and settlements in the region.”We are starting with the election campaign in all earnest,” Shifoleni said.Namibia will, in all probability, hold four elections, the regional and local authority elections and the presidential and national assembly elections, this year.Shifoleni said his party also planned to set up a permanent regional office at Keetmanshoop.”We will not only be around when election time comes like some other parties,” he vowed.Shifoleni stressed that his party would strive very hard to prove to the electorate that the RP was not a whites-only party as claimed by some.”The party already showed its seriousness on this matter when a considerable number of black members were elected into the national executive,” he said.”The RP means business. We will be a factor in the political arena of Namibia and we will show this in the coming regional and local government elections where we will flex muscles,” Shifoleni added.- NampaThis move is to be followed by the setting up of branches in other towns and settlements in the region.”We are starting with the election campaign in all earnest,” Shifoleni said.Namibia will, in all probability, hold four elections, the regional and local authority elections and the presidential and national assembly elections, this year.Shifoleni said his party also planned to set up a permanent regional office at Keetmanshoop.”We will not only be around when election time comes like some other parties,” he vowed.Shifoleni stressed that his party would strive very hard to prove to the electorate that the RP was not a whites-only party as claimed by some.”The party already showed its seriousness on this matter when a considerable number of black members were elected into the national executive,” he said.”The RP means business. We will be a factor in the political arena of Namibia and we will show this in the coming regional and local government elections where we will flex muscles,” Shifoleni added.- Nampa
