Nampower will sign an engineering, procurement and construction contract with the contractor of the planned Rosh Pinah 100MW PV Project next week.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Namibia Power Corporation (NamPower) said the addition of the largest PV plant in Namibia will be developed 33km northwest of Rosh Pinah.
“The Rosh Pinah 100MW PV Plant will not only contribute positively to the Namibian economy, but will also aid in addressing and supporting the renewable energy commitments prescribed in the Renewable Energy Policy, National Energy Policy and National Integrated Resource Plan for the electricity supply industry in Namibia,” noted the statement.
The PV plant will play a pivotal role in transitioning towards a low carbon and environmentally sustainable energy system.
