Risking Our Students

Risking Our Students

Dear Rector of the Polytechnic of Namibia Dear CEO of the Windhoek Municipality etc Why are your/our students exposed to unnecessary risks? The location: Brahms street, between Verdi and Johan Albrecht streets.

The time: daily from 07h30 to 20h30 Why are hundreds of Polytechnic students forced to walk in the street, during the changes of classes, being endangered by dozens of taxis? Why does nobody bother to fix up both sidewalks so that pedestrians can make use of them? Why are the cut-offs from the shrubs and palm trees not removed, forcing the students to walk in the street? Is it necessary that somebody gets hurt before anything is done? I have had meetings with the Traffic Police and a City Councillor: Nothing happened up to today.
