The Ramatex factory in the Otjomuise residential area in Windhoek will host the creme de la creme of Namibia’s pretty cars on Saturday at the annual Ricky’s Custom Car Show Fest.
Organiser of the show Allan ‘Ricky’ Hill has promised a lot this year, but whether or not his team will pull it off remains the question.
Apart from all the trophies that will be awarded to winners, there’s a few special items promised on the day.
One being that members of the stance-focused South African car group CapeStance will be judging and crowning the winners on the day.
Hill and the crew will also be doing a live build of a BMW F30, showing off a fraction of what the talented team can do to a car.
The Low Limbo, a huge play area for children, competitive simulation car gaming and an entire section allocated for television broadcast are but some of the extras that can be expected.
Apart from the standard categories, the public will be able to enter as there are a few new categories specially created for the locals.
Hill said “categories like Best Newcomer have been introduced for guys who just started their build or those who perhaps only have rims and dropped suspension fitted”.
The CapeStance crew will also be hosting an air suspension show, definitely a first for Namibia.
Hill said there will definitely be a record number of cars fitted with air suspension at one place up for display.
Everyone will be parking inside the factory, but the contestants will be separated from the general crowd.
