Real Madrid want Beckham to stay

MADRID – Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon revealed yesterday that the club wanted to convince Los Angeles-bound midfielder David Beckham to stay with the Spanish side.

The 32-year-old Beckham, whose strong recent form has also led to his recall to the England team, is set to join American Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy in June.
