RDP Youth League demands evidence

RDP Youth League demands evidence

THE RDP Youth League has called upon the Swapo Party Youth League to give concrete evidence supporting their allegations that school principal Dineinge Sheya drove pupils to an RDP march at Eenhana on March 29.

RDP Youth League Secretary Sam Hamunyela told an RPD rally at Eehanna on Sunday that they were shocked to hear the contents of a petition that the Swapo Party Youth League in the Ohangwena Region handed over to Ohangwena Governor Usko Nghaamwa and Ohangwena Education Director Josia Udjombala on April 3.The petition stated that Sheya, the principal of Haimbili Haufiku Senior Secondary School at Eenhana, drove pupils to an RDP rally in his own car.Hamunyela charged that Swapo Councillors used schoolchildren during school hours to demonstrate against principal Sheya and insult RDP leaders and members. He called this a contradiction. ‘If it was right for Swapo to recruit small kids as Swapo pioneers, why should it be wrong today for RDP to let schoolchildren attend our rallies?’ Hamunyela said.Referring to the SPYL’s call that teachers and civil servants supporting the RDP should be purged from the public service, Hamunyela said it was not Swapo paying civil servants’ salaries but the taxpayer. He called upon SPYL to stop intimidating RDP members and supporters and insulting the party’s leaders.’Swapo has already failed this region by intentionally appointing some people with education disabilities to key positions and again they are trying to boot out our deserved and well-qualified educational experts, so that they can replace them with empty-headed people who will fail our schoolchildren,’ Hamunyela said.
