Rape-murder case postponed

THE trial date of three men suspected of raping and murdering a woman in Swakopmund last year is still undecided after they made a brief appearance in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Michael Tsowaseb, Kinsley Dausab and Elton Naobeb stand accused of the brutal rape and murder of Menesia Owases on September 3 last year. Her mutilated body was found on a vacant plot between the townships Tamariskia and Jabulani early the next morning.The men had allegedly been seen with Owases at a shebeen the previous evening, from where they supposedly accompanied her to her house.Naobeb was arrested on September 8 last year and the other two men were taken into custody months later.The case was postponed until August 2 for the Prosecutor General’s decision.Her mutilated body was found on a vacant plot between the townships Tamariskia and Jabulani early the next morning.The men had allegedly been seen with Owases at a shebeen the previous evening, from where they supposedly accompanied her to her house.Naobeb was arrested on September 8 last year and the other two men were taken into custody months later.The case was postponed until August 2 for the Prosecutor General’s decision.
