Ramblers to host tourney for the young

RAMBLERS Football Club will hold its annual youth tournament, this weekend, starting today at its fields.

The event serves for the under 7 to under 13 age groups, while the under 15 and 17 matches will be hosted by SKW.Otjiwarongo FC will travel with all their youth teams to the tournament on Friday and it will be the first time for them to take part in the event.The Ramblers under 7 team will play in a tough group with SFC, SKW 1 and Swallows. The other group comprises of Ramblers, SKW 2, SKW 3 and St Georges School.The Ramblers under 9 team played their last tournament in the B series and this time, it will be in the A series again. This group consists of Ramblers 1, Swallows, St. Georges School 1 and SKW 2, with the other group being SFC, Mario Football Academy, Ramblers 2, SKW 1 and St Georges 2.The under 11 category has OFC, SKW 1 and OFC and Mario Football Academy. The other group comprises of Ramblers, KFA, SKW 2 and St. Georges. The Under 13 age group also sees both finalists from the Otjiwarongo Tournament, SFC and OFC, with Ramblers 1 and SKW 2 completing the group. There are two further groups being Swallows, Mario Football Academy, SKW 1 and Scorpions, while the other has Ramblers 2, KFA, St Georges and NYFDP.Only the first placed teams with the best runner up will go through to the semi-finals.The under 15 and 17 teams will play at the SKW field on Saturday and both are in groups of five and will be playing on a league basis. The under 15 league consists of OFC, SFC, SKW, DSSW and Spartans, while the under 17s also has the same teams.
