Questionable SSC Appointment

MR George Simaata was the former under-secretary of the Department Public Service Management of the Office of the Prime Minister.

You will remember him from your archives in the tender scandal with regards to the privatisation of pension payouts. He had to face certain misconduct proceedings in this regard but because of blatant favouritism by the senior management in the OPM, perhaps the former PMs themselves, he was able to avoid these measures.It is with great shock that I read in your newspaper that he is now in a senior management position at the SSC, ie General Manager: Human Resources or something similar.What happened here? If I remember correctly the last verdict by court was that he should have faced misconduct proceedings.Did the new PM proceed with this? How can he be trusted at the SSC unless his case is concluded?
