Zambian airline Proflight Zambia has introduced a new three-times-per-week scheduled service between Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako International Airport via Livingstone’s Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport.
The new schedule will commence on 3 March 2026.
Air Connect Namibia welcomed the move, underscoring its potential to boost tourism, trade and investment between the two nations.
“Zambia is one of Windhoek’s largest African origin-destination markets, with an estimated 10 000 two-way international passengers in 2024 – a 14% increase on 2023. We warmly welcome Proflight Zambia to Namibia and congratulate them on this timely and vital regional route,” Namibia Airports Company chief executive and Air Connect Namibia spokesperson Bisey /Uirab says.
He says the new route is a catalyst for regional integration, economic synergy and deeper ties between the people of southern Africa.
The new service is expected to cater to business and leisure travellers by offering direct access between the three dynamic destinations.
“Lusaka and Windhoek are rapidly emerging as leading aviation hubs, fuelling greater connectivity and regional cooperation across the Southern African Development Community region. In addition, Livingstone provides travellers with convenient access to the iconic Victoria Falls,” /Uirab says.
He says the route will be vital for stimulating bilateral trade and cross-border investment.
“By strengthening ties between two of the region’s most promising economic hubs, the route lays the foundation for deeper commercial partnerships and regional value chain development,” the chief executive says.
He says the project is the result of ongoing collaboration between public and private stakeholders, including the Namibia Airports Company, the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board, Gondwana Collection Namibia, the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Walvis Bay Corridor Group, the Namibia Tourism Board, and the City of Windhoek.
This new service will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, scheduled as follows: Lusaka-Windhoek: 08h30-11h35, Livingstone-Windhoek: 09h55-11h35, Windhoek-Livingstone 12h20-13h55, Windhoek-Lusaka: 12h20-15h20.
