President heads to US-Africa Business Summit

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah will lead Namibia’s delegation to the US-Africa Business Summit taking place in Angola, and runs from 22 to 25 June.

The summit will be attended by African heads of state and government, ministers, senior United States (US) government officials and business leaders from US and African companies.

The summit will be hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa and the government of the Angola in Luanda, under the theme ‘Pathways to Prosperity: A Shared Vision for US-Africa Partnership’.

On 23 June, Nandi-Ndaitwah is expected to speak during the Plenary: Advancing US-Africa Energy Partnerships discussion.

On Tuesday, she will deliver a statement during the session on ‘Women in Leadership: Driving Innovation, Catalysing Investments, and Shaping Policy’.

“Namibia’s participation in the US-Africa Business Summit presents an opportunity for the country to attract foreign investment, expand trade opportunities, including increasing investments in the priority sectors of agriculture, infrastructure, energy, mining, oil and gas,” reads a statement.

The 2025 US–Africa Business Summit sessions are aimed at fostering stronger economic ties and partnerships between the US and African nations and expanding trade, investment and business development opportunities.

The summit will also focus on key issues and opportunities shaping US-Africa trade and investment by bringing together participants for high-level discussions to explore critical challenges by defining priority sectors, and creating new pathways for economic collaboration.

Nandi-Ndaitwah will depart on Sunday and return to Namibia on Tuesday.
