President Nangolo Mbumba anticipates “a stellar performance” from the Brave Warriors in Sunday’s Council of Southern Africa Football Associations(Cosafa) Cup final against neighboring Angola.
Namibian beat Mozambique on Friday in Gqebehra, South Africa, to reach the tournament decider, with Angola getting the better of Comoros in the other semi-final earlier the same day.
Mbumba said the Brave Warriors have impressed and he expects that they will continue to make the nation proud.
“I have been following with keen interest the remarkable progress of the Brave Warriors during the #CosafaCup2024. By reaching the final, the Brave Warriors have made us all proud,” Mbumba said on his Facebook page on Saturday.
The final contest, which kicks off at 15h00 inside the iconic Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, will be preceded by the third place playoff between Comoros and Mozambique.Namibia will be aiming to win their second Cosafa Cup title, while Angola are chasing a fourth success in the southern African regional competition.
“It will be a tough final against Angola but I am confident that our formidable coach Collin Benjamin and his exceptional players will put in a stellar performance,” said Mbumba.
“I wish the Brave Warriors the best of luck. Let us all rally behind our team.”
