Power outage to affect northern regions

NAMPOWER announced yesterday that, from 07h00 to 17h00 on Sunday, a power outage will affect customers in the following areas: The Kavango, Oshikoto, Ohangwena and Otjozondjupa regions; Grootfontein, Tsumeb, Otavi, Ondangwa, Oshakati, Eenhana, Otjiwarongo, Okakarara, Outjo, Khorixas, Kamanjab; villages, farms and settlements at Oshigambo, Oniipa, Omuthiya, Ohangwena, Oshikango, Tsintsabis, Coblenz, Okamatapati, Otjituuo, Okahitwa, Halali, Okaukwejo, Braunfels, Fransfontein, Kalkfeld, Anker and Erwee.

NamPower said the outage was necessitated by the need to refurbish the Gerus to Omburu (transmission stations) 220 kV Feeders Protection System.
