Police recover stolen car

The Police at Oshakati have arrested two young men in connection with an armed robbery at Okatana on Sunday afternoon.

Oshana Police Commander Ndahangwapo Kashihakumwa said the two suspects first held three women at gunpoint at the Omutshona Mini Market at Okatana village. They allegedly stole some money from the shop’s safe and took the women’s cellphones and jewellery before tying them up inside the shop.They also took a customer’s car keys, locked him up and made off with his car.The Police were alerted and put up a roadblock between Okatana and Oshakati.When the suspects saw the roadblock, they got out of the car and tried to run away.The Police chased after them and both suspects were arrested.The items stolen during the robbery were allegedly found on them.It was the Oshana Police’s second big success in a week.A week before, they recovered another vehicle 30 minutes after it was stolen from a business at Oshakati.They allegedly stole some money from the shop’s safe and took the women’s cellphones and jewellery before tying them up inside the shop.
