The 19-year-old suspect, who was arrested for allegedly stealing a solar pump, escaped from the Outjo Magistrate's Court on Monday around 11h02.

According to regional crime investigations coordinator for the Kunene region deputy commissioner Paavo Iyambo, Mukonda, who was detained at Outjo police holding cells on two charges of theft of solar pumps and solar panels, allegedly escaped while he was under police guard at the Outjo Magistrate's Court.

Mukonda was arrested last Thursday for allegedly stealing a solar pump and solar panels at farm Randte in the Outjo area.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Mukonda should contact deputy commissioner Kausiona on 0816499249 or the nearest police station.
