Police honoured for long service

THE Namibian Police held a medal parade for long-serving officers in the Khomas Region in Windhoek yesterday.

Two senior officers received commendation medals and 33 officers received medals for long service. One officer and 27 non-commissioned officers received medals for 10 years’ service and five non-commissioned officers received medals for 20 years’ service. Moses !Omeb, special advisor to the Khomas governor who spoke on behalf of the governor, said a police career not only demands utmost dedication, but requires officers with a high level of discipline and perseverance, as they are confronted with serious challenges in the performance of their duties. !Omeb congratulated those who were awarded medals for their achievements and urged all police officers to rededicate their efforts to the fight against crime to make Namibia a better place.
