The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) on Saturday reported that the body of one of the trial-awaiting inmates who escaped from the Katima Mulilo prison on Monday was found along a highway.
Katima Mulilo police station commander chief inspector Charles Mayumbelo told the national broadcaster that eight of the 12 inmates who escaped have been recaptured.
Mayumbelo also told NBC that most of those who have been rearrested sustained injuries to their legs.
Mayumbelo says so far only Musiwa Masule, famously known as Nine, and three others are still on the loose.
Police investigations continue.
