Police Are Human Too

PEOPLE THINK, read and learn. I have heard of disappointing lies, misconceptions, deceit and all horrible stories about men in uniform.

Not all our citizens know what these human beings go through in the execution of their duties. Police officers, no matter how much we look down on them, are the same people to call and run to when we are in trouble.

They, in most cases, are the only workers to leave their houses empty, unguarded to guard other people’s places and property while the owners are sleeping peacefully. Did you think of it? An officer should be able to think in a split second, be able to do miracles, attend to calls at odd hours and even comfort his haters and enemies all in the name of protecting life and property.

A police officer, in most cases, goes to work but their coming back is never guaranteed.

They are the only people who do first and complain later.

They are paid low wages irrespective of what qualifications you have.

They are crucified for attending to a complaint late and get death threats and all sorts of insults and profanity.

Fellas, I’m not asking you to like them as there are rotten apples among them, but be a little more sympathetic with them.

Listen to them without making some unwitty comments. Have an understanding of their work and be good citizens so that they can also work with you. Only then will you not be asked questions and told to “shut up and tell us the truth” and “I’m not your friend, my friend”.

Let us respect them and not behave rude towards them. Police officers are human too.
