PM Odinga leaves hospital

NAIROBI – Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga was discharged from hospital yesterday after a six-night stay for a head operation, an AFP reporter said.

‘I thank all the staff of Nairobi hospital for the care and hospitality. I am happy to be back on my feet,’ Odinga said as he left Nairobi hospital.On Wednesday one of his doctors, the neurosurgeon Oluoch Olunya had said Odinga was making good progress but that he would require a further four days in hospital followed by home rest before resuming his normal duties.Olunya said the prime minister was suffering from a chronic subdural haematoma which he said was a blood clot on the surface of the brain.Odinga, 65, checked himself into Nairobi hospital on Monday evening complaining of exhaustion and headaches. – Nampa-Sapa
