RUNDU – The Directorate of Forestry in the Kavango Region is to introduce a new permit system to give communities the opportunity to benefit from forests.The system will only be implemented in areas that have community forestry agreements with the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry.
Under the proposed system, the Directorate of Forestry will issue block permits to the forest management bodies based on their management plans.
