A 76-year-old man identified as Matheus Shou reportedly drowned at Olukulo village in the Tsandi constituency, the police report.

According to Omusati police regional commander commissioner Ismael Basson, the incident occurred around 07h30 on Wednesday.

“It is alleged that the deceased was found floating in a swamp near a school by pupils,” he says.

The deceased lived alone and was last seen alive on Tuesday at cucashops in the vicinity.

In a separate incident, a woman (45) was allegedly raped by an unknown suspect at Okathimakamwe village in the Oshikuku constituency.

Basson says the incident occurred around 21h00 on Wednesday.

“It is alleged that the man grabbed the woman from behind by her shirt, pulled and twisted her right arm, and she fell down on her back. The suspect then allegedly raped her,” he adds.
