Penandino Crowned Miss Energy

The Hilton Hotel was fully packed with beautiful young people who witnessed the Miss Energy pageant held recently.

The event, hosted by Energy 100FM, attracted a huge amount of young people including two former Big Brother contestants, Sulu and Pokello, both from Zambia. All the young ladies looked stunning but there could be only one winner, along with her two princesses. Penandino Nderura was crowned Miss Energy while Cecilie Matawa Ugelwi was first princess and Pefimbo Shipunda was second princess.

The new Miss Energy is a first year Biochemistry student at the University of Namibia (Unam) and she says that winning the pageant came as a huge suprise. Although she just started modelling this year, she has been crowned Miss Unam First Year for 2014 and also competed in the Miss Unam pageant, where she managed to make it to the top six.

“I only started modelling this year and I was not expecting to win Miss Energy. The competition was tough and all the ladies looked beautiful.”

She plans to work together with her two princesses to raise funds for the Farm 6 charity project, currently being run by Energy 100FM in which the station provides a home in the San community with funds, stationery, toys, gardening tools and food.

She also hopes to plough back into the community at large by providing resources to schools and helping the needy.

Setting the stage on fire was Freeda of Gal Level fame, Lil D and former BBA housemate Sulu who performed his hit track ‘Ruby’, along with a few other songs from his yet to be released album.
