PDM elects new leadership for elders, women’s council

The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) elected new leadership in various positions of its national wings at a congress in Windhoek over the past weekend.

The party elected Charles Pieters as its new elders council secretary general, while Brumilda Cornelius is the new deputy secretary general of the council.

Reinhilde Kudumo was selected as chairperson of the women’s league, while Florence Ndinda will serve as her deputy.

Julia Nekwaya was elected as secretary general of the youth league, with Hamutenya Mathias as her deputy.

The chairperson of the PDM’s election directorate, Elma Dienda, said the elections were free and fair with no internal or external influence.

“The delegates, however, still have 72 hours to object to the results,” she said.

The party is set to hold its elective congress this weekend at Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi region to elect its top leadership for the next five years.

The party will also launch its manifesto there.
