THE Kayec Trust at Ondangwa and CTM Oshakati recently entered into a smart partnership, with CTM Oshakati donating tiles, instructional brochures and a DVD for Kayec’s new tiling, glazing and decorating course which started this week.

Ondangwa Kayec manager Martin Wilkinson says the donation is valued at about N$3 000. The Kayec Trust runs vocational training courses at the Ondangwa Skills Training Centre and recently introduced four new courses: tiling, domestic electrical, small engine maintenance and appropriate technology. The project is funded by the European Union in conjunction with the National Planning Commission.”Our aim at Kayec is to reduce rural poverty through giving young people a chance to earn an income in their own communities” said Wilkinson. He said it was great to get local businesses involved in donating material for training courses, describing it as a win-win situation because trainees of today would become the customers of CTM in the future.CTM Oshakati Manager Matheus Shikongo said CTM was happy to help Kayec in training the tilers and decorators of the future.
