Partly buried body found on farm in Rehoboth area

THE fingerprints of a man whose body was found half-buried in manure on a farm in the Rehoboth area late last week may have to be used to establish the identity of the presumed murder victim.

A worker who was recently employed at farm Linshof, situated some 135 kilometres southwest of Rehoboth in the area between Klein Aub and Rietoog, on Thursday afternoon discovered the body of a man partly buried in a heap of manure that had been cleared from a kraal at the farm, according to Police sources. The man, estimated to have been in his mid-twenties, is suspected to have been a worker who was employed at the farm between June 3 and 6 before he apparently disappeared. The farm owner, who does not live at Linshof permanently, employed a worker, whose full names and personal details he did not know, on a temporary basis early this month. It is suspected that this was the person who was discovered dead on Thursday.Foul play is definitely suspected, but the exact cause of the man’s death has not yet been established, Police sources indicated yesterday. The man was wearing a red tracksuit, red T-shirt and yellow underpants when he was found.
