Over N$50 000 stolen from jackpot machines at Katima Mulilo

The police in the Zambezi region are investigating a housebreaking and theft after N$59 000 was reportedly stolen from eight gambling machines at Katima Mulilo.

In the weekend crime report released on Sunday, the police say the incident happened at Bush Baby shop on Saturday morning when the suspects used an unknown object to cut the roof to gain entry into the shop.

The suspects also cut the alarm cables before damaging eight jackpots and stealing the money.

No arrests or recoveries have been made yet.

In another incident, a bag containing a laptop and a wallet valued at N$15 439 was reportedly stolen from a vehicle parked outside the Choppies store at Katima Mulilo on Friday.
