Outstanding Pupils at Monica Geingos JSS Awarded

Twenty outstanding pupils at Monica Geingos Junior Secondary School (JSS) at Otjiwarongo were awarded with cash, certificates and trophies at the school’s fifth prize-giving ceremony last Thursday.

The first lady, Monica Geingos, who is the school patron, attended the event and handed over the most prestigious dux award to the overall best performing pupil, Toive Kamusuni.

The 14-year-old Grade 8 pupil received N$2 500, a trophy and certificates.

Kamusuni also was honoured for being the most disciplined pupil at the school. Geingos also recognised parents who have shown their commitment to the school work and development of their children.

Other top performing Grade 8, Grade 9 and Grade 10 pupils each received a certificate, trophy and cash prizes of N$1 000 in the subjects of mathematics, English, physical science, life science, geography, agriculture and entrepreneurship.

Otjozondjupa governor Otto Ipinge and Otjiwarongo mayor Bennes Haimbondi as well as parents also attended the event.

The school this year boasts a total of 364 pupils with a staff complement of 18 teachers offering Grade 8 to Grade 10.
