She says a man (46) was allegedly driving a truck while working on electricity wiring at the village.
“While reversing the vehicle, the driver reportedly drove over the minor who was sleeping under a tree. The boy died at the scene,” Shikwambi says.
The boy’s next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.
In a separate incident on Saturday, a man (30) was stabbed to death at an entertainment venue at Nomtsoub at Tsumeb.
The victim sustained a single stab wound to his right shoulder from an unknown sharp object and was declared dead upon arrival at Tsumeb Hospital.
“It is alleged that a quarrel erupted between the deceased and a group of suspects at a lounge, which turned into a fight that led to the stabbing,” Shikwambi says.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
The suspect has not been arrested yet, and police investigations are ongoing.
Also at Tsumeb on Saturday, a woman (25) was arrested after allegedly stabbing another woman (28) in the chest with a kitchen knife three times at Kuvukiland in the Nomtsoub area.
The victim sustained serious injuries.
