A man (46) from Oshikondiilongo village in the Ohangwena region is currently fighting for his life in the Oshakati Intermediate hospital after he was allegedly attacked with a panga by his brother on Wednesday morning.
Oshana police spokesperson Thomas Aiyambo says the victim was injured on his head and both arms.
He says the victim is in the intensive care unit in critical condition.
“The brothers had a misunderstanding on family matters at their late parents’ house. Then the fight erupted. The daughter of the victim ran to the nearby cucashops to report the incident,” Aiyambo says.
Thereafter, the villagers came to their house and alerted the police, he says.
“The victim was transported to the hospital and the suspect arrested on Wednesday morning.”
He will appear in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
