OPUWO – At least 23 soccer teams have so far registered for the Opuwo OK Grocer Annual Soccer and Netball Tournament set to take place this weekend.
Teams from all over the country have been invited to compete, and more than 60 football and netball teams were expected to register.This is the third time the tournament takes place.
Some of the teams that have registered are from far as the Omusati and Otjozondjupa Regions.
The football category is being sponsored with N$30 000 by Opuwo OK Grocer. The winning team will receive N$15 000, while the runners-up will receive N$8 000.
The third-placed team will reeve N$5 000 and the fourth-placed team N$2 000.
The netball category is being sponsored by the Kunene Pharmacy with an amount of N$10 000. The winning team will receive N$6 000, while the runner-up will win N$2 500 and the third placed team N$1 500.
The tournament takes place at the Newman Katuta Stadium in Opuwo on Saturday and Sunday. – Nampa
