Opportunity knocks at Swakopmund

AN opportunity awaits budding entrepreneurs at Swakopmund who have a particular marketable skill but lack the know-how to start and operate a small business.

The Swakopmund Small Business Information Centre (SSBIC), a non-governmental organisation, has stepped into the information gap between entrepreneurs and those organisations that can help them to successfully establish and manage a small business. The SSBIC is planning an information session where aspiring small and medium business owners can learn more about the process of registering a business and drawing up a business proposal. The information session will also serve as an opportunity to link up with potential financiers. The event will take place on September 22 at the Ministry of Fisheries Auditorium in Swakopmund.According to Project Manager Kennedy !Haoseb, several institutions including First National Bank, Nedbank, Bank Windhoek, the Development Bank of Namibia, the Swakopmund Municipality, the Office of the Prime Minister and the Small Business Credit Guarantee Trust will deliver presentations on the particular services they offer to SMEs.!Haoseb has extended an invitation to other interested parties to join in and take the opportunity to inform potential clients about their services.Any entrepreneur who wants to start a business can attend the meeting, but only 50 participants can be accommodated.Registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis and the registration fee is N$25.Those who are interested must register before or on September 15 at the BK Centre opposite the Mahetago Community Hall, or contact Kennedy !Haoseb at (064) 40 2968.The SSBIC is planning an information session where aspiring small and medium business owners can learn more about the process of registering a business and drawing up a business proposal. The information session will also serve as an opportunity to link up with potential financiers. The event will take place on September 22 at the Ministry of Fisheries Auditorium in Swakopmund.According to Project Manager Kennedy !Haoseb, several institutions including First National Bank, Nedbank, Bank Windhoek, the Development Bank of Namibia, the Swakopmund Municipality, the Office of the Prime Minister and the Small Business Credit Guarantee Trust will deliver presentations on the particular services they offer to SMEs.!Haoseb has extended an invitation to other interested parties to join in and take the opportunity to inform potential clients about their services.Any entrepreneur who wants to start a business can attend the meeting, but only 50 participants can be accommodated.Registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis and the registration fee is N$25.Those who are interested must register before or on September 15 at the BK Centre opposite the Mahetago Community Hall, or contact Kennedy !Haoseb at (064) 40 2968.
