The One Economy Foundation raised N$3 million at a fundraising dinner on Thursday.
These funds will support the continued growth and development of the foundation’s work.
The gala was in honour of the foundation’s 10-year anniversary.
Founder and former first lady Monica Geingos expressed her deep appreciation of everyone who played a role in the foundation’s journey over the past decade.
She acknowledged the shared commitment to shaping the future of Namibian children.
“The numbers are important, and I’ll share a small example from our clinical work. With just two vans and outreach efforts across the country, we managed to process 13 patients in the space of six months, far more than we had expected,” she said.
Reflecting on the foundation’s progress, Geingos said over the past 10 years, more than N$100 million has been raised, most of which has gone towards infrastructure.
These visible developments, she said, have created a blueprint for impact and helped earn the trust of communities.
Between February and June this year, 9 200 meals were served as part of the foundation’s outreach.
“But it’s about more than just meals. It’s about ensuring our young people have nourished minds and bodies. They tell us what they need – we listen, and we deliver,” the former first lady said.Looking to the future, Geingos outlined the next chapter for the foundation, which includes the establishment of the Dr Hage G Geingob Presidential Centre, and plans to expand into Africa through the creation of Leadership Lab Yetu in Kigali, Rwanda, where young people from across the continent will come together to learn and lead.
