Ondobe pensioner dies in hit-and-run incident

A man died following a hit-and-run accident at Ondobe on Saturday evening.

The victim, Petrus Shimweefeleni (63), was allegedly crossing the road when he was hit by an oncoming pickup.

The police claim the driver was not in possession of a licence.

“It is alleged that the suspect abandoned the vehicle on the scene, and disappeared from the scene without ascertaining the extent of the victim’s injuries,” the police report states.
