WE read a pure horror story on page six of the ‘The Namibian’s Friday edition 15, 2011.
A story about how the minister and ‘wanna-be’ future president, Jerry Ekandjo, understands his and other MPs’ duties, his loyalties, his priorities and, last but not least, his as ugly manners. God help this nation if this man ever becomes president because then, Namibia’s freedom will be doomed; Swapo will merge with Zanu-PF, our free Namibia will become part of oppressed Zimbabwe and, God forbid, we will have to move out, like millions of Zimbabweans did.Now we know that respectable critics like our good old Theo-Ben Gurirab and Eddy Amkongo, also Namrights and many, many others who say that the integrity of our parliament is ‘raped’ by the overwhelming presence of cabinet members within it, are perfectly right. That cannot go on for much longer because our democracy is going to the dogs and quickly so. Autocracy is already moving to take over. Much in Namibia has to change to avoid that. Many in power today have to go and especially many of the Swapo ‘ringkoppe’. ‘Fuming Jerry’ should lead the exodus. He is bad medicine for Namibia! It is wrong to try to back-up a Robert Mugabe and his cronies, it is wrong to back-up a Muammar Gaddafi and all those who, in the open and unashamed, abuse and murder their own people and ransack and loot their erstwhile rich national economies until these are impoverished – and it is therefore wrong to excuse what Ekandjo did. Instead, we have to condemn what he said and how he said it – he learned nothing from the past. All good in his ugly ranting was that we now see clearer by the day. We see what the true nature of those who aspire to be the next president of Namibia is.AnonymousName and address provided – Ed
