The police in the Omusati region have reported that a woman was allegedly beaten to death with a gun by her boyfriend on Saturday.
The man subsequently took his own life.
Hilya Nekongo (29), a bartender at Onandjaba, and her boyfriend, Simeon Lotete (30), allegedly got into an argument at the bar early on Saturday morning.
During the altercation Lotete allegedly grabbed a firearm from the guard on duty and proceeded to chase Nekongo with it.
“The boyfriend allegedly grabbed the firearm of the guard who was on duty at the premises and started chasing his girlfriend.
“He caught up with her, hit her in the head with the gun, and she died at the scene.
“The man left the scene, and his body was found this morning,” Omusati regional investigations coordinator deputy commissioner Malakia Simaho said on Saturday.
Lotete’s next of kin have been informed of the incident
