Omusati police arrest man for alleged murder of cousin

The Namibian Police in the Omusati region have arrested a man (36) who reportedly stabbed his cousin (41) to death.

Regional commander commissioner Ismael Basson said the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday at Ohama yaShuunda village in the Outapi constituency.

According to Basson, it is alleged that the deceased was sleeping in the room with his co-worker, when the suspect entered the room and stabbed the deceased with an unknown sharp object all over his body.

The deceased died on the scene.

“The deceased’s body was found outside the room where they were sleeping, with about nine stab wounds,” he added.

He was identified as Stefanus Mwavina Pius.

Police investigations into the matter continue.
