I WOULD like to express my view on the disappearance of the once-popular Catholic Church Newsletter known as Omukuni.
The newsletter used to provide religious news and political news in the country and abroad. It served as a messenger between the Catholic Church and its community.Hence I use the word ‘angel’ to refer to it, because the word angel was derived from Latin angelus; and in Greek aggelos; from the Hebrew for “one going” or “one sent”; messenger).Omukuni is similar to Omukwetu of the ELCIN Church which is still running. My question, since I read at the beginning of the year the Catholic Archbishop in Namibia urges Namibians to practice good governance, is whether the death of Omukuni was caused by bad governance or by a lack of funds? And will it ever come back to life or it has gone for good? If it has to do with money, why is Omukwetu is still running? I guess the Catholic Church does realise the importance that media can play, because one reads so much church-related news in The Namibian. Now the Pope is being attacked for his remarks on Islam and if Omukuni was still alive it could help to control or the damage caused by the Holy Father to the Islam community worldwide.Concerned Catholic WindhoekIt served as a messenger between the Catholic Church and its community.Hence I use the word ‘angel’ to refer to it, because the word angel was derived from Latin angelus; and in Greek aggelos; from the Hebrew for “one going” or “one sent”; messenger).Omukuni is similar to Omukwetu of the ELCIN Church which is still running. My question, since I read at the beginning of the year the Catholic Archbishop in Namibia urges Namibians to practice good governance, is whether the death of Omukuni was caused by bad governance or by a lack of funds?
