Omaheke’s Otjombinde councillor appointed deputy ICT minister

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed Wenzel Kavaka, Otjombinde constituency councillor in the Omaheke region, as deputy minister of information and communication technology, effective Wednesday.

The appointment, announced at State House on Thursday, is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the executive and improve service delivery across public institutions.

Nandi-Ndaitwah said selecting Kavaka from the National Council broadens inclusive leadership within the executive.

She said drawing leaders from regional structures ensures greater representation and strengthens governance at national level.

Kavaka will now serve as councillor and deputy minister.
