Old Mutual backs Powerhouse Cycling Club with N$30 000

CYCLING DONATION … Powerhouse Cycling Club’s João da Costa, Powerhouse Cycling Club chairperson Nikkie Mbeeli, Old Mutual Wealth chief executive Wikus Fourie and Powerhouse Cycling’s Annaloice Penduka.

Old Mutual Wealth has committed N$30 000 towards the Powerhouse Cycling Club’s monthly birthday rides for 2026.

The move aims to promote wellness and strengthen community connections through cycling.

The sponsorship was announced in a media statement issued on Tuesday.

The funding will support all birthday ride events hosted by the club throughout the year, which have become a popular fixture among members.

The rides bring cyclists together each month to celebrate birthdays collectively, creating a shared sense of recognition and connection.

Unlike one-off events, the birthday rides have built consistency, offering participants a regular platform to stay active while fostering a sense of belonging. The initiative has grown in popularity, with cyclists drawn not only by the physical activity but also by the social element of celebrating milestones together.

Old Mutual Wealth says its involvement reflects a broader commitment to initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles and community engagement.

Old Mutual Wealth chief executive Wikus Fourie says the partnership aligns with the company’s values of linking financial well-being with physical health and social connection.

“We believe that prosperity is linked to wellness and community connections,” he says. “By supporting the Powerhouse Cycling Club’s birthday rides, we are celebrating individuals, promoting healthy living, and contributing to a community that reflects these values.”

The N$30 000 sponsorship will be used to support the coordination and enhancement of the monthly rides throughout 2026.
