The 66th Windhoek Oktoberfest is promising a complete return to its traditional roots when it lands at the Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) grounds in Olympia on 30 and 31 October.
Organisers officially launched the 2026 festival recently, revealing a joint setup between Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL), the O&L Group, and SKW.
This year’s back-to-basics focus comes directly off the back of public feedback, with revellers asking for a return to the classic music, traditional games, and authentic food that built the event’s reputation.
Speaking at the launch, NBL managing director Waldemar von Lieres said all three entities are pulling together to run the event.
“SKW brings the grounds, the history and the community. O&L brings the boldness, and we bring the beer and the brewing heritage,” Von Lieres said.
Delivering remarks on behalf of O&L executive chairman Sven Thieme, corporate affairs manager Gideon Shilongo noted that the goal for 2026 is simple: strictly genuine Bavarian customs paired with local hospitality.
On the entertainment front, Bavarian mainstays Die Kirchdorfer are set to return for their 14th year on local soil.
They will share the stage with the Rocktoberfest Dancers, Schaftlacher-Schuhplattler, and the ÖK Beans Band.
Festival-goers can also expect the usual crowd contests, including log-sawing, brick-lifting, and the Beer Queen finals.

The festival will once again run on a completely cashless wristband system. Organisers have advised the public to buy tickets online via NamEvents, as gate sales will be limited and cost significantly more.
Early Bird sales open on 1 September for the first 300 buyers, priced at N$200 for Friday, N$220 for Saturday, and N$400 for a Weekend Pass.
Standard online prices for adults are set at N$220 (Friday) and N$245 (Saturday). Entry for children aged seven to 13 is N$60, while tickets for teenagers aged 14 to 17 cost N$120. Children aged six and under enter for free. Reserved VIP tables for groups of eight (over 18s only) are available for N$16 000.
