Okahandja missing child found dead

The search for six-year-old Roslin Fabians at Okahandja has ended with the discovery of her body close to her school, in a suspected case of murder.

This has been confirmed by community activist Gerub Gaseb who says the police are already on the scene.

“We are at the scene of the crime. The body has been retrieved. It doesn’t look good. The community is upset. We are behind the grave yard where the school is. The police were with us when we found her,” he says.

Fabian vanished after being dropped off at KW Von Maree Combined School on Thursday morning.

“Sadly, the body of the little girl was just found behind Vredersdal cemetery at Okahandja.
Further updates will be shared as soon as received,” says police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi.

Fabians’ disappearance and suspected murder has reignited shock in a community still reeling from the abduction and murder of five-year-old Ingrid Maasdorp who attended the same school.

According to police, Fabians’ aunt reported that the child boarded the school bus at 07h00 but failed to reappear when it returned for the afternoon pickup.
