Former American football star Orenthal James (OJ) Simpson, who was acquitted of murder in 1995, has died after a battle with cancer, says his family in a statement.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, Simpson’s account carried a simple message from his family.
“On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace,” the statement says.
