In a media release, NWR spokesperson Nelson Ashipala said the new prices have been set to accommodate Namibians and those in SADC countries.
“With the release of the latest SADC and domestic rates, citizens can now travel to some of Namibia’s best resorts at a fee as low as N$660 per person, upon presentation of a NamLeisure discount card, including dinner and breakfast,” Ashipala said.
For high-end resorts under the eco category, such as Sossus Dune Lodge and Dolomite, the fees start from N$1 440 per person, also with the NamLeisure card, said Ashipala.
The new prices are valid for new bookings from 1 November 2022 to 31 October 2023.
“Sentiments around Namibians not being able to afford travelling has necessitated the organisation to keep prices low so that the country’s inhabitants can also experience the beauty of Namibia,” he said.
According to Ashipala, high prices have previously meant that not many Namibians are able to fully experience the flora and fauna in the country.
Travelling costs and the cost of living has gone up. With the new rates, NWR can confidently claim to have the country’s lowest prices, Ashipala said.
He urged the general public to obtain an NWR NamLeisure card in order to qualify for various discounts at all NWR establishments.
“These discounts do not only stop at 50% off accommodation but include 25% off meals and activities. This grants everyone the opportunity to visit our resorts and explore what our beautiful country has to offer,” he said.
