The Namibia Exile Kids Association (Neka) has paid tribute to the late founding president, Sam Nujoma, describing him as a father and compass for the children of the liberation struggle, whose resolve never wavered.
Neka’s president, Kadiva Hamutumwa, issued a statement on Monday offering condolences to the Nujoma family, the Namibian nation, and Neka members.
“As we bid farewell to our first commander-in-chief, we do not mourn a loss; we celebrate a life that defied the impossible. Tatekulu was a revolutionary par excellence. To the children of the living struggle, he was more than our leader – he was our father and compass,” noted Hamutumwa.
“In exile, tatekulu demanded we prioritise education. He saw in us the guardians of his legacy – a generation tasked with turning sacrifices into progress, a generation of young freedom fighters. Neka, born from his vision, stands today as a testament to his faith in the youth.”
