Ntusi aims to fight inequality and empower women

Ntusi said this in an interview with The Namibian on Tuesday, two days after she was elected as deputy secretary of the SPWC."Our plan is to implement a 50/50 gender representation, because since independence, women have not been equally represented in some sectors," says the deputy secretary. She said the council will try to fight inequality and at the same time do its best to empower women and the youth.Ntusi added that the wing had been dormant over the years, because women were being used by men to give up their power. She said the league will fight the existing inequality by empowering women and youth through workshops and training. City of Windhoek councilor, Fransina Kahungu is the secretary of the SPWC.Ntusi added that women can become whoever they want to be in life and named Kahungu as an example, saying that she had started out as a cleaner, while she has now been elected as the leader of the women's council."Nothing can stop you and you just have to be determined, disciplined and honest. This can take you wherever you want – the sky is the limit," said Ntusi.
