NTUNGURU Football Club set up a play-off match against Pool B winners of the North East First Division, Julinho Sporting, after they defeated Kangweru Black Tops 3-1 to win Pool A.
Ntunguru will face Julinho in a two-legged play-off match to decide the winner that will be promoted to the Namibian Premier League (NPL), while Oshikango Chiefs and United Stars will square off for third place.
League administrator, Daniel Namwira told Nampa on Saturday the play-off dates will be set and communicated in due course.
In other Pool A matches played on Saturday, Black Hawks defeated Eastern Chiefs 2-0 in a match played at Katima Stadium, while United Stars defeated already-relegated Bingo United 3-0 at Rundu Stadium.
In Pool B, in a match played at Rundu Stadium, Pool winners Julinho Sporting and Cuca Tops drew 2-2, while Oshikango Chiefs and KK United drew 1-1 in a match played at Ohangwena Stadium.
In Tsumeb, relegated Benfica lost 2-0 against neighbours Young Rangers at Oscar Norich Stadium.
In Pool A, Ntunguru topped the log with 19 points, followed by Black Hawks on 17 points. United Stars came third on 15 points while Kangweru Black Tops came fourth on 10 points. Eastern Chiefs ended in fifth place also with 10 points, but with an inferior goal difference, while relegated Bingo United ended on six points and are now condemned to the Kavango East Second Division.
In Pool B, Julinho Sporting ended with 23 points, followed by Oshikango Chiefs on 15 points. Third place was taken by Cuca Tops who ended on 14 points, with Young Rangers making sure of a fourth-place finish with 13 points.
Fifth place went to KK United with 11 points and Oshikoto Second Division-bound Benfica ended sixth with 5 points.
The winners from the NEFD play-off match will join Young Brazilians from Karasburg in the NPL next season, after the latter defeated Blue Boys in the Southern Stream First Division play-off match played last month.
