AUSTRALIAN uranium exploration outfit Deep Yellow Limited has appointed geologist Katrin Kärner as exploration manager from September 2019.
The company announced this week that Kärner will take over from Martin Hirsch at its project in the Erongo region.
Hirsch will be the leader on resources and pre-development at the same project. Deep Yellow spent about N$286 million on all their exploration assets as of 2018.
Deep Yellow Namibia, the holding company’s local investment arm, is based in Mauritius, a well-known tax haven.

DIRECTOR’S ASSOCIATE BUYS INTO NICTUS
A TRUST represented by former Nictus managing director Nico Tromp has bought shares worth N$455 000 in Nictus Holdings Limited.
The company announced that the shares were bought by PC Trust off the market this week at N$1,60 per share.
The other PC Trust’s board member is Philippus Tromp, who is Nictus Holdings’ managing director.
Approval to buy the shares was sought and given by Gerard Swart, the chairman of the Nictus Group.
Nictus released their financials last month, with an earnings per share of 13,06 cents, and will pay a dividend of 12 cents per share later this month.

BONDS INTEREST TO
BE PAID ON MONDAY
INVESTORS holding government bonds will receive their coupon (interest) payments on Monday.
This is according to the Bank of Namibia’s borrowing calendar. The GC22, GI25, GC27, GI29, GC30, GC35, GC37 and GC45 bonds all have an interest rate of between 8% and 10%.
Individuals and investors seeking to buy the 182-days treasury bills have until Thursday, 18 July 2019, to tender for this instrument.
According to the government’s borrowing strategy for the 2019/20 financial year, the state is looking at borrowing about N$1 billion through the issuance of new treasury bills.
