Not bothered by social media criticism – Nandi-Ndaitwah

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says she will not be discouraged by negative comments and criticism on social media.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Ohangwena II Wellfield Water Supply Scheme at Eenhana in the Ohangwena region on Thursday, Nandi-Ndaitwah said some people are using social media to insult leaders instead of using the platforms productively.

She said the government remains focused on delivering on its promises despite the negativity.

“We will deliver, because as a government, we do what we say,” she said.

The president also criticised contractors who delay government projects and later demand more money to complete them. She warned that such practices will no longer be tolerated.

“It should be a thing of the past for a contractor who is awarded a tender to delay a project and then ask for additional funds. When you tender for a contract, you already know what it takes to complete the project in terms of time and money,” she said.

The Ohangwena II Wellfield project aims to improve access to clean and reliable water for residents in the region.
