THE Northern Electricity Distribution Company (Nored) and the Mineworkers Union of Namibia (MUN) on Friday signed a recognition and procedural agreement at Ongwediva.
The agreement allows Nored employees to register with MUN. MUN Northern Regional Organiser John Nuukunde commended Nored for agreeing to the terms and conditions of the agreements.Nored Managing Director Martin Heita said the agreement would regulate, maintain and strengthen a fair and equitable relationship.Heita also used the occasion to say he was seriously disturbed by reports of illegal deals involving some Nored employees and members of the public.”It appears that self-enrichment through illegal means, mainly fraud and theft of company assets by employees is, in general, increasingly becoming fashionable and the order of the day…as I have said, and I say it again today, there is no room for rotten apples, cheats and greedy and corrupt elements within the staff establishment of Nored,” he said.MUN Northern Regional Organiser John Nuukunde commended Nored for agreeing to the terms and conditions of the agreements.
